One of Australia’s top Cabernets and known as the Cabernet equivalent of the world famous Penfolds Grange. This is Penfolds Bin 707 Cabernet Sauvignon and it’s one of the world class reds that wine collectors around the globe scramble to get their hands on upon release!

First produced in 1964 with Penfolds legend Max Schubert’s dream to produce an Aussie Cabernet that could last in the cellar for 20+ years. During the 1950s and 1960s most Cabernet was being blended – the debut release of the rich and powerful Bin 707 was Penfolds’ first release of a single cabernet-based wine.

Bin 707 is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and produced from some of Penfolds’ finest vineyards across South Australia including Coonawarra, Barossa Valley, Padthaway and McLaren Vale, aged for 18 months in 100% new American oak barrels.

This is the latest 2022 vintage release and as expected it’s every bit the world class red we’ve come to expect…

97/100 (James Halliday’s Wine Companion)
“As is to be expected, the 2022 Bin 707 appears almost opaque in the glass with a characteristic fruit weight and intensity of flavour. Densely packed, pure blackberry, black cherry and blackcurrant fruits with hints of baking spices, kirsch, cedar, choc-mint, ironstone, bay leaf, polished leather, berry cream, earth and coal dust. Powerful, muscular and weighty with an array of compact tannins and a thick-shouldered sway to its gait as it slowly trails away. A classic and one for the cellar.”

95/100 & Top Rank Award (Huon Hooke, The Real Review)
“Deep dense purple-red hue; coconut, mocha/coffee grounds and black fruits to sniff, very ripe and the high-toned varietal aromas are not there, instead the secondary and wood-matured characteristics rule. The wine is very full-bodied and dense, concentrated, power-packed and loaded with character. Lashings of oak and tannin. Needs a lot of time. (Coonawarra, Barossa Valley, Padthaway & McLaren Vale. 18 months in 100% new American oak)”

Extremely limited stocks of this very special red. Cellar until 2049. Comes presented in Penfolds Bin 707 branded tissue paper.
