These guys are as passionate about producing world class Pinot as they are about protecting the native bird species they’ve named them after. Since their first vintage in 1998 the awards have flown through the door. Not literally, although the impressive Peregrine winery building (which has also won awards) is shaped like the wingspan of a falcon in flight.
The Peregrine (or Kareara) is probably more famous than you realise – check the back of a twenty dollar bill and you’ll see the mug of one of these endangered NZ falcons.
A luscious, succulent Pinot Gris with a dry finish. Drink it over the next 3-5 years and enjoy with pork, chicken or fish.
Damn, you're looking young for your age!
