Pirra…pirri…mimimi…mimma. Pirramimma Petit Verdot. The name’s a mouthful and so’s the wine!
Made by Pirramimma (all together now pirra-mim-ma!) are a winery that can boast some of McLaren Vale’s oldest vines. This is their absolutely delicious 100% Petit Verdot release from an exceptional 2018 vintage.
New to Petit Verdot? We’ll give you a quick run down eh? Pronounced “peh-tee vur-doe” it’s a bold, full bodied red that originates in Bordeaux, France and best known as a popular blending grape because of it’s colour, tannin and floral aromas. But producers in Australia, Chile, Spain and some parts of the US are having great success producing single variety wines using this grape.
What does it taste like? Expect lots of dark, black fruit flavours like plum and black cherry along with herbal and dried herb flavours.
Don’t settle for anything middle of the road – reach for the stars! And the moon. In fact “Pirramimma” is an aboriginal phrase for “the moon and the stars” – reach for a bottle of this and you’ll be over the moon.
Damn, you're looking young for your age!
