Q Malbec. The Q stands for Quarisa. John Quarisa. He’s the man dubbed “The Magician” in some wine circles because quite how he crafts such full flavoured, amazing value for money South Australian reds leaves some scratching their heads and others standing up in applause.

And he’s struck Gold yet again with the 2022 release of Q Malbec. It took out Double Gold & Best Value at the China Wine & Spirit Awards, Gold at the Catavinum World Wine and Spirit 2023 Competition as well as Gold (for the second year running!) at the NZ International Wine Show.

Best known for producing Shiraz and Cabernets under his 30 Mile, Shot in the Dark, Johnny Q and Enchanted Tree labels, this time Johnny’s turned to the Malbec grape for this latest project.

Malbec has found its home in Argentina since the 90s and more recently in Aussie. But back in the day in France this wasn’t a grape French winemakers though much of – Malbec actually derives from the word ‘Mal bouche‘ which means bad mouth!

This is a rich, lush, dark fruited and velvety style Malbec with the typical Quarisa signature touch of being rammed full of flavour! Grab a case and chuck a few bottles away in the cellar – Quarisa’s magic spell will keep this wine going up until 2027.
