He’s a bit batty about Merlot so it’s little surprise that one of Redmetal’s favourite styles is his Merlot Cabernet Franc blend. Hand crafted using premium fruit from the free-draining red metal gravels of the Bridge Pa Triangle district of Hawke’s Bay.
Scoring 4 1/2 Stars with Kiwi wine critic Michael Cooper who said “The very ripe-tasting 2021 vintage (4.5*) is a full-coloured, sturdy red. Weighty and sweet-fruited, it has strong, fresh plum, red berry and spice flavours, with ripe, supple tannins that give it lots of drink-young appeal.”
