We’ll tell you what we want, what we really, really want. If you like a bit of spice, and specifically Ginger Spice, then you’ll love this vivacious Central Otago Pinot Gris. It’s got “pretty pear, white peach perfume, exotic jasmine florals and a kiss of ginger spice on the finish” they tell us. It’s definitely a bit Posh for the money!
If you’ve been a regular slurper of Central Pinot Gris over the years you’ll know that name and know this is a Gris that regularly punches above its weight for the money!
Rua was formerly part of Akarua, formed by Sir Clifford and Lady Mary Skeggs back in 1995 but more recently sold to iconic French wine producer Edmond de Rothschild Heritage. The Skeggs family still own and operate 90 hectares of established vineyards in the Pisa and Bannockburn sub regions of Otago and have kept the iconic Rua label under its new Mora brand.
In short, this is the same Rua you know and love owned and operated by the same family that started it all those years ago!
Soft, rich, off-dry style with a portion of the wine having been fermented in oak to add complexity and richness.
Damn, you're looking young for your age!
