These guys recently notched up their 285th birthday (that’s a lot of candles) making them the oldest established Champagne house in the world.
This is a bottle of their world famous Blanc de Blancs in a half sized (375ml) bottle, packaged in its unique shaped bottle which is a tribute to the first Champagne bottles of the 18th century. Quite possibly the coolest looking bottle to slip in and out of your handbag (or manbag!).
Prior to Ruinart coming along all wine that was transported long distances was in barrels, so you unless you wanted your fizz flat Champagne was for locals only. In 1730 the clever chap that started Ruinart (Nicholas) ordered the first shipment of “wine with bubbles” in bottles – and hey presto the world was introduced to Champagne!
Blanc de Blancs means the Champagne has been made entirely with white wine grapes, this one is 100% Chardonnay and one of the world’s most famous examples of Blanc de Blancs Champagne.
Note: This bottle has been carefully stored in our temperature controlled wine cellar.
