Yee-haw! Hold on to your cowboy hats ‘cos this here is one rich, creamy Chardonnay all the way from the Golden State itself. That’s California in the USA and the Sebastiani Chardonnay has been gaining a big rep with NZ’s Chardonnay loving hardcore since landing on our shores a number of years back.
Produced in the north coast of California using fruit from a variety of sub regions like Sonoma County and Chalk Hill. Sebastiani are a winery started by an Italian immigrant in the late 1800s. During the prohibition days Sebastiani were one of the few places still producing wine – for religious or medicinal purposes of course (probably why numbers at the local churches sky rocketed!).
If you’re one of the ever growing Chardonnay lovers converting to the Californian style, this won’t disappoint! It’s a rich and creamy style with heaps of sweet tropical fruit flavours. Perfect with seafood, chicken or duck dishes in creamy sauces – yum!
