Zinfandel (some cool kids just call it Zin) is California’s speciality and, a bit like the people that live there, you get all sorts. From dry, spicy, heart-warming styles to ones that have a high level of sweetness to them. Sebastiani Zinfandel 2016 vintage is medium bodied and full of flavour – lush, juicy, ripe red berry fruitiness with a touch of spice. If you’re new to this style this is a great place to start.
Produced in the Sonoma County by a winery started by an Italian immigrant in the late 1800s. During the prohibition days Sebastiani were one of the few places still producing wine – for religious or medicinal purposes of course, It’s probably why they reckon numbers at the local churches sky rocketed!
