Sileni Estate was born in 1997 and co-founded by Kiwi businessman, philanthropist (and wine lover!) and official Hawke’s Bay legend Sir Graeme Avery. Named after the Sileni that features in Greek mythology who followed Dionysus, the God of Wine. They celebrated good wine, good food and good company. Now we’re talkin’.
To celebrate their 25th vintage Sileni jazzed up their labels and released their new “Grand Reserve” range using some of their best fruit from specific sites and sub regions in Hawke’s Bay and beyond.
You’ve got to be good to reach the peak. And to put something under their Peak Grand Reserve label the guys at Sileni in Hawke’s Bay use their best fruit from their best vineyards in the Bridge Pa District.
The warm temperatures and free draining red metal gravels are perfect for making top notch Hawke’s Bay Syrah.
A few years back this label reached the absolute peak – making the top 1% of over 17,000 wines at the Decanter World Wine Awards! The 2021 is now here, under a fancy slick new label, and it gets the thumbs up from us. Rich and dark berry fruit flavours with a touch of spice and soft, silky tannins. Yum.
Peak drinking for the Peak? Drink now to around 2028.
