Yep, that’s right. Sunstones that used to form the river bed of an ancient river in Marlborough’s Wairau Valley are now used by the crew at Stoneleigh to radiate the daytime heat directly onto the vines, making them work hard to produce grapes full of crisp, vibrant flavour.
The 2023 release is here and with a Gold medal at the NZ International Wine Show this is a bit of a bargain buy. Made in an off-dry style with typical stone fruit, pear and lychee flavours with a touch of sweetness.
