Made by superstar winemaker Brent Marris. You might know him better from his days crafting wine at Wither Hills and formerly Oyster Bay. The Ned Rose is slurped by wine lovers across all four corners of the globe. It’s a massive, massive favourite and quite simply one of those can’t-go-wrong options year in, year out.
So who’s Ned anyway? Well he’s tall, rugged and around 909 metres in height. You’ll find him down there the Waihopai Valley in Marlborough. Brent spent his youth in the area so when it came to thinking up a name for his new wine project he just remembered his childhood days biking and hiking in and around the summit of the peak that over looks the Pacific Ocean, The Ned.
This is summer in a glass, Ned style. It’s all bright, juicy summer fruit flavours like red berries and raspberries. Scoring 93/100 with Master of Wine Bob Campbell who also gave it a Top Value AND a Top Rank Award. Bob said “Mid-pink rosé that is particularly flavoursome with strawberries and cream, red rose petal and raspberry characters with a hint of spice. Assertive and accessible rosé that achieves a perfect sweet-sour balance.”
We’d tell you it’s the perfect wine to bust out during those hot summer months on the deck with a light summer salad. But if you’re like us you’ll be sipping wines like this all year round.
Damn, you're looking young for your age!
