You know what they say, never underestimate a dark horse. Trust us when we say this is a wine that’s well worth backing. This McLaren Vale label has become a massive hit with lovers of Aussie red over several years now and it’s damn easy to see why.
After making wine in Italy and France former Coriole winemaker Matt Broomhead returned to the McLaren Vale to kick off his own gig with Dad Alan and his late Grandfather Frank. They’re the Three Dark Horses, they’re boutique and they’re producing some seriously good wine.
This is the extremely cool and a little bit different Three Dark Horses Grenache + Touriga (pronounced tor-ee-gah). Winemaker Matt calls said this one has “Vibrant, soft and juicy Grenache + Touriga. Whole bunches. Co-fermented. Wild yeast. Unoaked. Unfined. Unfiltered. Untamed, but utterly delicious. Fresh and bright with black cherry and darker fruit. Textural and plush. Lovely spice and savouriness kick through the finish.”
The smart money is on this horse yet again.
