You’ll find the Three Miners vineyard between Alexandra and the historic gold mining village of Clyde down there in Central Otago, where way back in the 1860’s their soils were mined for gold.
These days owned by husband and wife team Paul and Kirsten Wright, they soon cottoned on to the fact that there’s no gold in ‘dem ‘der hills and have resorted to a modern day equivalent of mining for gold, growing damn good Central Otago wine and winning gold of a different kind!
The Miner’s Right was required by law to mine for gold and it set you back a pound. This rich, mouth filling, off-dry style Central Otago Pinot Gris will cost you a bit more than a quid – but boy is it worth it!
It struck the big time taking out the Trophy for Champion Pinot Gris at the NZ International Wine Show 2018!
Damn, you're looking young for your age!
