The Hut might be Tinpot but the wine’s anything but! Being a country girl it makes sense that winemaker Fiona Turner would give her range a name that reflects her sheep farming background. Tinpot Hut Sauvignon Blanc
The Tinpot Hut in Marlborough is an iconic (and we’re guessing shabby looking!) landmark and meeting spot for high country musterers (people who round up livestock, like sheep). Marlborough Sauvy’s close to their heart so Fiona and the crew go all out and put their best foot forward on this one. So they would’ve been stoked as hell to see it take out Gold at the Sydney Int’l Wine Competition as well as a handful of Silver medal awards on the local circuit.
Tinpot wines have certainly caught the eye on the international scene. It’s got listings in some of the UK’s leading Michelen Star restaurants like Gordon Ramsay’s Maze, Savoy Grill and Chez Bruce. Star chef and restaurant owner Jamie Oliver’s a big fan too. He tweeted “Love your wine…always have some in the cellar!”
An absolute treat for those that like their SauvyB a little more on the herbaceous side with loads of classic tropical fruit flavours.
