Domaine de Triennes was formed in 1989 by two legends of the Burgundy wine scene Jacques Seyss and Aubert de Villaine (joined by their Parisian mate Michel Macaux). They hunted high and low for the right spot for their estate and settled up high in the hills of the Var region, north-east Marseille.
Situated in the heart of truffle country but it’s vines that have been grown in this area for over 2000 years! In fact the name Triennes comes from the word triennia, a festival held every three years in honour of Bacchus (god of wine!) in ancient Roman times.
A great location, legendary winemakers and a no-BS approach to making good wine.
“We make our wines the way we like to drink them. For the whites and the rosé, this means a constant search for freshness and aromas. Simple winemaking without cosmetics. Wines from winemakers.”
This is their rosé and it’s typical of the style and region – crisp, dry, fragrant and elegant.
