Barbe-Nicole Clicquot Ponsardin – also known as Madame Clicquot, Widow Clicquot and Veuve Clicquot (Veuve means ‘Widow’ in French). This legendary woman took over her husband’s wine business when she became a widow aged just 27 and from there helped turn this world wide Champagne juggernaut into what it is today.

Clicquot only release their vintage label in exceptional years – and for the 66th time in Clicquot’s history they declared 2012 a vintage year. This is the first time since the 2008 vintage this wine has been released and what a belter it is! It’s a style the guys at Clicquot described as “powerful and voluminous, with an attack that is distinct and clear. It unfolds with initial aromas of luscious red fruit, strawberry and Morello cherry.”
