Villa Maria Single Vineyard Templar Vineyard Organic Sauvignon Blanc

Rest assure anything from Villa Maria’s “Single Vineyard” range is usually pretty slick stuff. So it’s no suprise to see their 2015 Single Vineyard Sauvy from their Templar Vineyard score a massive 95/100 by Bob Campbell as well as a Gold medal at the NZ Organic Wine Awards – a wine show dedicated to bloody good NZ wines doing bloody good things for the planet!

Produced from exclusive, small parcels of land and in this case a site on the bank of the Awatere River. Produced in very small quantities using organically certified grapes – they’ve got the Certified Bio-Gro Organic sticker slapped on the bottle for proof.

It’s a step up in class from your everyday Marlborough Sauvy and well worth the extra coin. Even the snobbiest of Sauvignon Blanc drinkers with expensive taste will be nodding in approval. Best enjoyed now but it’ll cellar for another couple of years yet.
