They’re New Zealand’s most awarded and trusted winery so you can rest assure anything from Villa’s “Single Vineyard” range is pretty slick stuff.
From a vineyard located in Marlborough’s Southern Valley that was originally owned by lawyer Chris Finlayson (and big time Pinot lover!), who was then Attorney General of New Zealand. Villa were pretty giddy to get the chance to buy the vineyard from Chris. Originally called the Finlayson vineyard they thought it was only fair they named it after him!
From that very same vineyard they produced their finest examples of Pinot Noir (The Attorney Pinot Noir – we’d go as far to say one of NZ’s best!) – this is a Rosé produced with some Pinot Noir from that very same vineyard.
Scoring 91/100 with Master of Wine Bob Campbell, who called it “Medium pink-tinted wine, which is delicately lush and spicy with flavours of raspberry, pomegranate and quince supported by lively acidity and suede-like tannins.”
Serve it chilled and pair with salads and white meat dishes. Drink now to 2024.
