Cruise north of Christchurch for half an hour or so and you’ll hit the Waipara Valley wine making region. The Waipara Hills vineyard boasts some pretty stunning views of the mountains, hills and valleys it neighbours.
They’ve got a café on site serving food and platters and if you hit ’em during the summer months you might catch one of their mean summer gigs. Oh, and the wines are pretty bloody good value too!
Their 2017 Chardonnay is an easy going fruit driven style – a lightly oaked style with stone fruit flavours. Just the ticket for white meat and fish dishes if you’re food matching – but if you’re feeling a master chef moment coming along why not dish up some seared scallops with herb butter with rocket salad, then serve this white with it for your moment of glory!
Damn, you're looking young for your age!
