Quintin Quider (the guy behind Wild Earth) put himself on the map when his small Central Otago vineyard won big time at the world’s biggest wine competition with his 2006 Pinot Noir.
Pinot is his gig so naturally this Rosé is also made from 100% Central Otago Pinot Noir grapes. He’s known for his wine and his wild food and in Quentin’s past time he’s your typical hunter gatherer collecting up on anything from mussels to the odd Otago rabbit.
He cooks it all up in his famous Pinot Barrel Cooker (a cooking contraption – wine barrel cut in half) which roasts, steams and smokes food all at the same time. Hangi, Wild Earth style!
A delicious dry style that marries perfectly with salmon! Quintin suggests it goes well with fruit salad, smoked pear salsa, chicken, white fish, salmon, strawberries & cream, and crème brûlèe! But not all at once.
