Zephyr Riesling

If we say “Zephyr” and you say “Ford” you’re on the wrong wave length (and showing your age!) – we’re talking the very classy wine label with international acclaim, owned and operated by the Glover family.

A third generation farming family Owen and Wendy turned their Dillon’s Point farm in Blenheim into a vineyard back in 1985. The Glover’s their own label Zephyr back in 2007 with a real focus on the aromatic styles (Gewurztraminer, Riesling and Sauvy)..

Their son Ben is in charge of the winemaking side of things and chances are you’ve probably slurped on something Ben’s had a hand in making. Wither Hills, Waipara Hills, Mud House and Corbans are just a few of the big names Glover’s been behind.

Ben reckons their 2013 Riesling is “sultry summer evenings personified”  – it’s off-dry in style packing plenty of delicious citrus fruit flavours (think apples, lemons & limes – yum!). Serve it as a classy pre-dinner tipple or match with Asian cuisine, squid or sashimi.
