What was once a stony sheep paddock back in the 80s (bought by a stash of cash from the sale of herd cows) has become one of Martinborough’s premier wine labels. Ata Rangi Pinot Noir is now up there with NZ’s best and has a glowing international reputation to boot.

Ata Rangi Pinot Noir is an absolute star, regularly one of Aotearoa’s finest and most sought after. We could waffle on all day and wax lyrical about what a class act this is, but when Master of Wine Bob Campbell has scored you 96-99 points (out of 100) for the last 14 vintages in a row, you know you’re on to a winner!

This latest 2021 vintage is yet another impeccable release under this label. Scoring a near perfect 99/100 with Sam Kim who said “This is impeccably composed and seductively expressed, showing dark cherry, clove, thyme and cedar characters on the nose with a gorgeous floral overtone. The concentrated palate is plush yet poised and refined with fleshy texture and perfectly pitched tannins. The wine exhibits stunning depth with layers of delectable flavours and meticulously structured mouthfeel, leading to a totally captivating, sensual finish.”
