From a legendary Rhone Valley wine making family the Chapoutier’s have been producing kick ass, world class wine in France’s eastern Rhone Valley region since 1808 and today Michel (Chapoutier) runs the show. Chapoutier Pays d’Oc Rose
This is their Pays d’Oc Rosé and it’s a great introduction to how the French make this style – dry, delicate, dry, light and dry. Did we say they love ’em dry? Yep, the baking hot Mediterranean climate means when the French knock the top off a bottle of Rosé they don’t want them too fruity, they want a style that’s going to be refreshing and thirst quenching. And that’s the style that Chapoutier Pays d’Oc Rose delivers in spades!
You’ll also find the labels for the Chapoutier range of wines printed in braille – Michel’s tribute to a local legend, Maurice de la Sizeranne. Maurice went blind aged nine whilst playing and went on to become a music teacher, writer, publisher and invented the first abbreviated version of braille.
