Hawke’s Bay and Chardonnay, a match made in heaven, and nobody has a love affair with Chardonnay quite like Tim, the main man at Clearview Estate. With legendary wines in his Chardonnay line-up like his world famous Reserve label (listed as in Michael Cooper’s prestigious “Super Classics” list) it’s fair to say he doesn’t just love the style, he knows it inside out!
His reputation for full bodied, big, powerful style Chardonnays doesn’t just end with the top end Reserve label though – the Beachhead is a taste of that Reserve label at a fraction of the cost.
Hand picked fruit from their Te Awanga vineyard that sits right on the coastline, aged for eight months in French oak, this is a full bodied, rich, creamy style with plenty of citrus and tropical fruit flavours. It’s drinking well alright – but you could still cellar this for another 2-3 years yet. For the perfect food match pair this number with chicken, fish or veal dishes.
