Tim Turvey and Clearview Estate are simply bonkers about Chardonnay – and damn good at it! When they’re not making (and drinking) Chardonnay they’re making (and drinking) Rosé – specifically their own super popular Clearview Estate Black Reef Blush Rose.
Named after the Black Reef along the Cape Kidnapper’s coastline there in Hawke’s Bay. Also named blush presumably after the colour of the wine, but also the colour your skin will go if you don’t slip slop slap on a Cape Kidnapper’s tour to see the gannets!
Using the rare known grape Chambourcin – Tim loves it for its fruit sweetness offset by natural acidity. This makes up about a third of Clearview’s overall production and glugged back in huge numbers at their awesome cellar door and restaurant.
If you’re down that way pop in and say hi to the team. Be sure to grab a nicely chilled bottle of the Black Reef Bush Rosé and try it with one of their amazing Seasonal Platters!
Damn, you're looking young for your age!
