Deutz Marlborough Cuvee is the story of a couple of German immigrants (messrs Deutz & Geldermann) who moved to France in 1838. Some 150 years later they shook hands and put pen to paper with Montana wines (remember them?) here in NZ to produce Champagne-like quality bubbles down in Marlborough. Hey presto, the Deutz name was born!
To this day Deutz Marlborough Cuvee is the only NZ Methode Traditionelle (made in the same way as Champagne) producer that lends its name from a French Champagne house. It’s the quintessential premium Kiwi bubbles that speaks with a slight French accent!
Deutz boasts a long, long list of awards over the years and so it’s not hard to see why it’s gained a cult following among Kiwi fizz guzzlers. It’s the go-to recognised New Zealand sparkling brand finding the sweet spot between price and quality.
