If you like your reds on the lighter side – back away now. Linke is the big, Barossa beast that packs a punch and then some. It’s taken the NZ market by storm over the past few years and now this latest release is like your favourite Linke on steroids – Linke Barossa Valley Dorrien Block Old Vine Shiraz.
In their own words – “this full bodied monster comes to you in all its glory from our single vineyard Dorrien Block, which was planted in the 1950s”.
Aged 24 months in old and new American oak this is your classic big, full-on Barossa red with balls! With lashings of dark chocolate, coffee and vanilla flavours this is an absolute treat. Only 2800 bottles made and each bottle is individually numbered on the back.
So who are they? Linke are a 5th generation German farming family who settled in the Barossa Valley. They’re 3rd generation grape growers and since 2002 have been produced their own label, Linke.
For 30 years they’ve been providing their fruit to the famous St Hallett’s winery and also to Langmeil since they started in the mid 90s. So there’s some quality fruit on show that’s for sure.
Damn, you're looking young for your age!
