Champagne with some serious WOW factor! Or as winemaker Benoît Gouez puts it “a Champagne of refined complexity.” d Vintage Champagne Brut
The Chef de Cave (fancy French name for Chief Winemaker) only produces Grand Vintage when he feels the grapes are of the highest standard and a first class wine can be crafted. It’s aged in Moet’s cellars for six years before release, this is the 76th Grand Vintage Champagne in Moet’s long 276 year history!
If you love the finer stuff when it comes to Champagne this is money well spent for $130. But how about a hundred thousand bucks? That’s what it cost a few years ago to buy a very special six pack of Moet Grand Vintage from Harrods of London. Moet released a very special six pack of Grand Vintage from 1911 to celebrate 100 years! A hundred grand! Nuts.
This 2015 release is produced from the hottest summer in Champagne since 1961 – it’s gettin’ hot in here! “The year 2015 was one of awareness and awakening towards climate change, both in the vineyard and also in the world…Grand Vintage 2015 is a champagne of contemplation – it marks the start of a new day.” says Gouez.
The stunning bottle and gift box design features the handwriting of Thierry Gall, long-time cellarman at Moët and a man whose hands have turned plenty of bottles in those cellars in his time.
Moet is the world’s number one selling Champagne brand, it’s also one of the most mis-pronounced wines around the globe! Not wanting to sound like a wine snob but Moet is actually “Mo-ette” with the ‘T’ prounounced.
A seriously classy wine and comes beautifully presented in a Moet Grand Vintage branded gift box, delivered anywhere in NZ.
