The Woodhenge is a massive timber construction outside the Wirra Wirra winery there in the McLaren Vale. It’s a bloody big fence, about 10 tonnes worth! Although calling the Woodhenge a simple wooden fence would be like calling Stonehenge a pile of pebbles!
Wirra Wirra Woodhenge Shiraz is a nod to the late and legendary McLaren Vale wine figure Greg Trott. He was full of big ideas and bold visions for McLaren Vale wine.
As for the wine, well there’s no sitting on the fence here. With 15 months in oak this is a big, bold, plush McLaren Vale Shiraz that’s jam packed with fruit. It’s a class act that’s for sure.
There’s no way Greg would’ve sat on fence when it came to a food match with this one either. Slow cooked beef ribs with chimichurri sauce. Get into it!
